About Sale Plumber

Who runs Sale Plumber, what happens to a plumbing enquiry from Sale or nearby towns, and how to check a Victorian plumber's licence before work starts.

Sale Plumber is an enquiry and referral website for plumbing jobs in Sale and the surrounding towns of Wellington Shire. The operator is Yes Right Pty Ltd, ABN 91 664 546 061. The site has no plumbers on staff: an independent local plumbing business reads your enquiry, decides whether it can help, and gives you its own quote.

Who runs this website?

Yes Right Pty Ltd runs the site and the enquiry form. It is not a plumbing contractor and does not hold a plumbing licence or registration. It has no depot or workshop in Sale, and it does not publish customer reviews, star ratings or photos of finished jobs, because it has not carried out any. Images on the site, once added, show the kind of work a page describes and are not records of real jobs.

The site makes money by referral. A plumbing business that takes on an enquiry may pay Yes Right Pty Ltd a fee for it. That fee does not come out of your pocket as a separate charge, and the price you are quoted is set by the business that quotes.

What happens after you send an enquiry?

  1. You fill in the enquiry form with your suburb, contact details and a description of the plumbing problem.
  2. Your details are passed to an independent plumbing business that services your area and handles that type of job.
  3. That business contacts you, asks any questions it needs answered, and may ask for photos or a site visit before it prices anything.
  4. If you accept its quote, your agreement is with that business, not with this website.

Sending the form does not book an appointment, and nobody can promise that a provider will be available on a given day. If water is pouring out of a pipe, turn it off at the meter before you do anything else. If a fault is in the street or on public land, Gippsland Water asks people to report a fault, leak or burst to it directly.

What is the plumbing business responsible for?

Everything about the job itself sits with the business you choose. That includes the quote and what it covers, booking times, materials, the standard of the work, any warranty it offers, payment terms and cleaning up afterwards. In Victoria it also includes the paperwork that plumbing law requires. A licensed plumber has to give you a compliance certificate for regulated work over a set value, and for some work at any value, such as installing or replacing a Type A gas appliance or altering a below-ground sanitary drain. The Building and Plumbing Commission explains this on its compliance certificate page. Ask for the certificate when the job is finished and keep it with your house papers.

How do you check a plumber’s licence in Victoria?

Plumbers in Victoria are registered or licensed by the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC), the state regulator for building and plumbing. The BPC was set up on 1 July 2025 and took over the work of the Victorian Building Authority, so a plumber’s details now sit on the BPC register.

Before you agree to a quote:

  • Search the BPC practitioner register by the plumber’s name, business name or licence number.
  • Check the licence or registration is current and that it covers the class of work you need, for example drainage, gasfitting or water supply.
  • Look for any conditions or limits shown against the licence.
  • Check the BPC Compliance and Enforcement Register, linked from the same page, for disciplinary action or prosecutions.
  • Ask whether the person who turns up will be the licence holder or someone working under their supervision.

The BPC tells consumers not to rely on advertising, business cards or what someone says about themselves, and to check before any work starts. That advice applies to any business you find through this site too.

Towns the site takes enquiries from

Enquiries come from Sale and from towns nearby such as Wurruk, Maffra, Stratford, Longford, Heyfield, Rosedale and Loch Sport. All of them are in Wellington Shire. The Sale area page covers local conditions, and the plumbing services list has a guide for each common type of job, from blocked drains to hot water. Whether a provider travels to your address is up to that provider.

How your details are handled

Your enquiry goes to one plumbing business that can quote the job. Details are not sold or added to a marketing list. The privacy policy explains what is collected, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted. You can also start again from the Sale Plumber home page.

Next step

Tell the provider what it needs to price the job first time: your town, what has failed, how old the fixture or system is, whether you are on mains sewer or a septic system, and a photo or two if you can take them. Then send your plumbing enquiry from Sale and an independent local business will be in touch about its quote.
